Corridor Monitor Workshop
Friday, April 18, 2025
9:00AM - 3:00PM
Appalachian Trail
Warwick, NY
Come learn how to protect the Appalachian Trail through Corridor Monitoring. Join Corridor Manager and AT Co-Chair Moe Lemire in the field to learn how this is done.
Corridor monitors protect the AT by walking the property boundaries surrounding the trail. The land that surrounds the AT is National Park Service Land, which is maintained, protected, and monitored by these volunteers!
A pre morning safety meeting and review of the day will occur in the parking lot. We then head into the woods following the National Park Property line, repainting the line and trimming while looking for encroachments and for the AT monuments.
- Terrain: Off trail bushwacking on uneven, rocky terrain.
- Distance: Approximately 5 mile loop.
- What to bring: Clothes you can get paint on, light weight branch trimmers, gaiters, sturdy footwear, trekking poles, lunch, plenty of water, snacks to keep you going, and a sense of adventure!
- Where to meet: AT Parking on Rt 17A, Warwick, NY 10990 - Google Maps Link
- Contact: Corridor Manager and AT Co-Chair Moe Lemire at [email protected]
