Want to learn about invasive plants? Join instructor and former NY-NJ Trail Conference Invasive Strike Force leader, Claire Lignac in this “Invasive Plant Management Tips and Techniques” Workshop to learn about these invasives and how you can deal with them!

Event description:

Help protect native plants and wildlife by learning how to identify and remove invasive plants from our trails! Invasives are often the pesky overgrowth that takes over trails and forested areas and disrupts the surrounding ecosystem. In this workshop, you will learn some tips and techniques for the timing and type of removal of invasive plants that are common to our region. No prior plant identification skills are required to sign up!

This workshop will include a 2-hour indoor instructional session at Dover Plains Library, followed by 2 hours of manual plant management at FrOGS Cricket Hill Preserve.

Program is presented in partnership with the Friends of the Great Swamp and NY-NJ Trail Conference.

Funding for this program is provided by the NYS DEC Invasive Species Grant Program.

Program is free to attend, but registration is required. There will be a break for lunch, so please bring a bagged lunch with you, or plan accordingly.
