The Long Distance Trails Crew is working on the Appalachian Trail in Harriman State Park. They will be building a series of stone steps and crib walls to make the trail more sustainable. Please come out and join the crew - you will be glad you did.
- What to expect: The crew will be building a long set of stairs and crib walls to rehabilitate the Appalachian Trail in Harriman State Park on the section known as Agony Grind. Please show up between 8:00 and 8:15am to meet with the crew before hiking out to the worksite.
- Terrain: Rocky, steep terrain. The crew will begin work at the bottom of the hill after a short hike of 1/4 to 1/2 mile.
- What to bring: Water, work gloves, snacks for break time, and lunch. Safety glasses and hard hats are required - please bring those if you have them. If you do not have your own, they will be provided. Also recommended: long sleeve shirt, long pants, and sturdy shoes or work boots.

Required Paperwork: Please complete the ATC Volunteer Service Agreement prior to coming out for the workday, if you have never filled this form out before.
This Event counts as part of Trail U curriculum.
Attending this worktrip will fulfill the "Non-Trail U NYNJTC Event" elective for any of the 3 curriculum tracks. Fill out your attendance in the Trail U Brochure to track your progress and earn a patch upon completion!
